This is the seventeenth issue of the IUT International e-Newsletters which is designed to expand the university's international scientific interactions with academic institutions abroad, aims to inform all faculty, students, and IUT staff about international events, educational opportunities, and research available in international academic spaces, News of visits and conferences, as well as bylaws and circulars related to international affairs, which can affect the international scientific interactions of outstanding academics.
The 18th Conference of Vice-presidents and Directors of International Centers of Universities and Research Centers as well as Science and Technology Parks of the Country was virtually held on May 9, 2021, hosted by the Ministry of Science. In this meeting, Prof. Dr. Hossein Salar Amoli, Head of the International Scientific Cooperation Center in the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, emphasized the internationalization of universities as a platform to raise the level of standards and increase the tolerance capacity within the international arena.
Following the new MOU between IUT International Scientific Cooperation Center of IUT and Limerick University of Ireland (UL), it is informed that University of Limerick has achieved the highest possible standard in the new QS Stars Rating System, the only university in Ireland to achieve this in 2021.
According to the latest Shanghai ranking in 2021, IUT is ranked among the top 75 universities worldwide in the field of science engineering, and technology tools.
Isfahan University of Technology is ranked as one of the leading universities in the fields of engineering and basic sciences in the academic subject ranking of Shanghai, 2021. In the latest ranking of Shanghai universities, 34 Iranian universities are ranked, in which the world's universities are evaluated in 54 fields and 5 scientific areas.
The International Festival of Movement is an event for competition and presentation of students' top scientific achievements, and this year, students from 51 countries participated in this international festival.
The Textile Scientific Association of IUT won the first place in the entrepreneurship section among 96 works. This association won the first place in entrepreneurial activities by presenting a plan for producing anti-corona hospital gowns.
Mr. Mohammad Ahmadi, M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering - Manufacturing & Production from IUT, presented a dissertation entitled "Designing and Manufacturing an Ultrasonic Machining with Analyzing the Parameters Affecting the Machine" with the supervisions of "Prof. Dr. Alireza Fadaei Tehrani" and "Prof. Dr. Aminollah Mohammadi" was selected for this section of the International Conference on Manufacturing & Production Engineering in Iran.
A 3-Year Memorandum of Understanding between Isfahan University of Technology (IUT) and University of Limerick (UL), Ireland on facilitating the collaboration between the institutions and articulating the intention to develop specific models of cooperation between the institutions, has been signed in March 2021.
Due to the fruitful bilateral collaboration between IUT and the International Center for Relativistic Astrophysics Network - ICRANet, a protocol of cooperation that was signed in 2016 has been extended to five more years. Also, some programs namely Dual Degree Ph.D. programs, Joint research under EU program for 2021-2027, Joint Mobility program under Erasmus+ program, Exchanging Academic members and Ph.D.
