On May 30, 2025, the 14th Iranian National Textile Conference was held in Isfahan University of Technology with the presence of the governor of Isfahan, professors, students, and industrialists of this field, with the aim of building scientific networks between faculties and connecting textile industries with the university.

According to the Public Relations Department of Isfahan University of Technology, Dr. Mehdi Jamalinejad stated this morning - Tuesday, May 20 - at the 14th National Conference of Iranian Textile Engineering at Isfahan University of Technology: "I am committed to supporting the two main economic chains of steel and textiles and following up on their problems. There is a need to modernize production equipment in the textile industry. We can also revive this industry through symbolization, creating a town centered on clothing, developing technology, helping to introduce artificial intelligence, and creating a database in this industry."

He added: Isfahan Province has a twenty percent share of polyester production in Iran, and given that the textile industry is one of the basic needs and priorities of humanity, we should pay special attention to this industry in Isfahan Province.

The governor of Isfahan stated: "With the attention of provincial, national and city managers and with laws such as preventing the import of foreign clothing, the textile industry was able to make some progress. Also, by breaking ground on the garment town, we intend to return Isfahan to its past glory in the textile industry and invite investors who intend to invest in the development of the garment town to do so."

 

Presentation of the latest scientific findings of Iranian textile researchers at the 14th conference

Dr. Afsaneh Valipour, president of the 14th Iranian Textile Conference, stated at the opening of this event that this event is a valuable opportunity to establish connections between universities and textile industries to advance research in various fields of textiles and said: "In this conference, students will be introduced to the latest scientific achievements, technologies, materials and new processes in textiles and will improve their scientific and technical level."

She added: Inter-faculty scientific networking and industry support for the university increase the effective communication between professors, industrialists, and students.

Dr. Valipour pointed out that the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Faculty of Textiles was held at the same time as the 14th Textile Conference of Iran. The activities of graduates of Isfahan University of Technology at the highest scientific level in the country, the presence of three members of the faculty of the Faculty of Textiles among the top 2% scientists in the world, and research cooperation with defense industries and aircraft manufacturing companies are among the achievements of the Faculty of Textiles.

Textile, a dynamic and multidimensional industry

Dr. Hossein Izadian, executive secretary of the conference, also stated in this meeting, referring to the breadth of the textile industry and the extensive use of textiles in various industries: Conferences are always a place for exchanging experiences and information at the highest levels of research and a platform for researchers and students to present the latest scientific achievements. He added: Textiles are a dynamic and multidimensional industry that provides a great opportunity for researchers to gather and share their knowledge and experiences so that they can create a better position for Iranian textiles in the region and the world. Izadian also said: The Textile Conference is held every two years in one of the four main textile schools in Iran.

With the cooperation of universities and industry, not only is domestic production promoted, but also the possibility of competing in the global market is provided.

Professor Ali Asghar Asgharian Jadi, Secretary of the Iranian Textile Science and Technology Engineering Scientific Association, also said: Our goal in cooperating with textile associations is to create effective and mutual interaction so that we can use scientific capacities to study and solve existing problems in the textile industry. He added: This relationship can lead to identifying key challenges and providing practical solutions, because many advanced industries in the world have followed the path of growth and innovation by relying on knowledge and research.

Stating that it is an opportunity to optimally utilize specialized knowledge, field experiences, and innovative capacities for the sustainable development of the country's textile industry, Asgharian proposed: By strengthening the link between industry and university, this cooperation will not only improve the quality of domestic products, but will also provide the possibility of competing in global markets. It is worth mentioning that Isfahan has always been known as one of the main centers of the textile industry, relying on knowledge and innovation and playing a key role in the economy and sustainable development of the country.
