SESAME Users' Office announced two PhD grant positions in Computational Physics and Engineering that are now open for application at SESAME.
The titles of the two PhD projects, both sharing The Cyprus Institute as the degree-awarding institution, are:
- Deep learning for the derivation of finite element models from 3D synchrotron X-ray tomography data
Automated interpretation of SR-based XRF and IR spectroscopic data using machine learning approach in archaeological sciences
The projects are part of ENGAGE, an interdisciplinary, intersectoral and multi-institutional quality training program designed for the next generation of computational physicists and engineers.
Aimed to develop students' competencies in High-Performance Computing, in methodologies at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science approaches, and in Quantum Computing, ENGAGE offers a total of 20 doctoral students in the fields of Computational High Energy Physics, Multiscale Systems and Synchrotron Light Applications.
