The first Joint Seminar Week on Spatial and Urban Planning in Isfahan with cooperation of Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), ETH Zurich and University of Tehran (UT) was held during April 27 till May 2, 2019 at Isfahan University of Technology (IUT).
“The joint seminar entitled "Rail and City: Isfahan", is the result of a joint scientific collaboration between IUT, ETH and UT.”; Said Prof. Dr. Sima Fakheran Director of IUT International Scientific Center. “A total number of 64 participants take part in the seminar including 25 professors of Spatial Planning and Civil Engineering and students of Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Spatial Planning from ETH University of Zurich, one of the best universities in Europe. 40 Iranian students and professors from public universities of Isfahan, Tehran and Sari are other participants of seminar. During this seminar week, researchers from Iran and Switzerland will work in different teams.to investigate challenges of transportation and urban planning in Isfahan. At the end of the course, there will be a closing ceremony which will be held with the presence of provincial officials, private sector managers, sponsors, professors and students, each team, will offers an idea to overcome the existing challenges of the city of Isfahan.”; Added Dr. Fakheran.
The MAS students are professionals who have returned to the university after several managerial experiences in relevant areas for sharing their experiences and updating their scientific information. The MAS students, will study and solve a real problem in one of the developing countries as the final project at the end of the course.
This scientific event provides an opportunity for exchanging experiences and presenting student ideas. It also will provide an opportunity to extend international scientific collaborations among Iranian researches and professors with their Swiss partners.
