The representative of the Alliance of 4 Universities of Spain (A-4U), Dr. Olga Belova, visited Isfahan University of Technology on July 8, 2017. Dr. Belova is the International Project Manager at A-4U and the main purpose of her visit from IUT was negotiating with IUT officials about putting the common MOU between IUT and A-4U (signed in 2015), into action.

During this visit, an official meeting has been held at the International and Scientific Cooperation Office (ISCO) of IUT attending by Dr. Karimi the Director of Research Affairs, Dr. Fakheran the head of Swiss Desk of ISCO and Mrs. Shams the senior advisor of ISCO. At this meeting, after presentations about IUT and A-4U capabilities and facilities Dr. Belova had an introduction about EU’s Erasmus Plus program and its support plans for exchange of students and professors and research projects. She mentioned that A-4U is interested to collaborate with IUT in the theme of Erasmus+ program as well as working on mutual research programs using the EU’s Horizon 2020 funds. The parties agreed to exchange the research proposal and the list of interested faculty members to accelerate the mutual collaboration in this regard. They also discussed the possibility of holding scientific tours, seminars and conferences.

It is to mention that The Alliance of 4 Universities (A-4U) is a strategic partnership between four leading Spanish public universities the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM), Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M) and Pompeu Fabra University (UPF). The association grew out of the desire of these four universities, which share the same commitment to quality research and excellence in teaching, to pursue joint projects.
