A delegation from South Korea, visited Isfahan University of Technology at October 23, 2016. Prof. Kwang-ho Kim, the president of the National Institute for International Education of the Ministry of Education of South Korea (NIIED) was the head of the delegation and Prof. Kyungnam Yun the education supervisor of the department of Planning & Management of this Institute and representatives from Seoul National University of Science & Technology (SoulTech) and Chungnam National University (CNU) accompanied Prof. Kim on this visit.
During their visit from IUT, the Korean delegation had a meeting with Prof. Mahboobi Soofiani, director of International and Scientific Cooperation Office and Dr. Omidi, the faculty member of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. At this meeting, Prof. Mahboobi, had a short presentation about IUT and explained about the capabilities and available facilities at IUT. During his talk, Prof. Mahboobi, explained about the history of scientific collaboration between IUT and Korean Universities and research institutes during the years 2014 to 2016 and expressed his willingness for developing these collaborations.
Professor Kim, during a short talk, expressed his happiness of visiting IUT and also mentioned the available opportunities for extending the collaboration between Iranian and Korean universities such as the scholarships that the government of the South Korea assigned for Iranian students.
After Prof. Kim talk, the representatives of SeoulTech and CNU universities had presentations about their universities and expressed their hope to expand their relationship with IUT. The parties agreed to pursue the extension of their relationship through the International Offices of the universities.
It is noteworthy to mention that NIIED is an executive agency under the Ministry of Education, and plays a leading role in strengthening national competitiveness by developing international human resources among overseas Koreans, exchanging students under national government scholarship programs, and providing educational administrative services.
