UNIVERSITY GOVERNANCE

pr-committee

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Since its foundation in 1977, Isfahan University of Technology has been engaged in an incessant marathon of exploring unfathomed grounds in technology, breaking through new horizons in science, erecting the pillars of a knowledge-based society, and handing over the torch of its traditions in research and learning to the next generation of engineers, scientists, and researchers. Without any doubt, the IUT scientific community has not only benefited from the so many industrial, manufacturing, agricultural, and service enterprises operating across the Province toward its achievements but also shared with them the research findings to boost both their further development and the local economy. It’s some time now IUT is playing a major role in industrial and economic development at the state level, especially by conducting research of national significance and by manning enterprises of almost every nature with highly qualified graduates who are now steering businesses, government departments, research organizations, private sector, and what not. Moreover, IUT takes great pride in 1 fostering and hosting fledgling companies and spin-offs and in establishing public-private partnerships with many SMEs across the nation.

The University has made attempt in joining dynamic, growing, innovative faculty teams who are dedicated to research and provide world-class education in the three areas of pure and applied sciences, engineering and technology, and agricultural science and technology. With an increasing enrollment, IUT makes every effort to develop new degree and non-degree programs at undergraduate and graduate levels to respond to the growing needs of a rapidly developing nation for ever more qualified workforce and scientists. Recognizing the requirements of a competitive global arena, IUT management is cognizant of its responsibilities and of the demanding task of steering an academic center toward the ambitious goals of a nation proud of its history and in quest of a brilliant future.

The University has expanded its international and national cooperation with leading academic centers. Many cooperation schemes have been forged and many more are in the planning stage. Examples of on-going schemes include a cooperation scheme with CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research) and the Swiss Leading House that is in charge of scientific relations with universities in Switzerland within the framework of joint research programs and exchange of faculty and students.

In addition, a number of centers of excellence in different fields of science and technology have been established that not only serve as the foundations for research and education but also provide platforms for international academics and students for promoting their research and, thereby, contributing to areas of mutual interest. It is fair to say that such efforts would improve IUT faculty members and students to successfully compete and gain many international and national awards.

I would like to extend a most sincere welcome to academics and young scientists from around the globe to visit our campus, enjoy the facilities and academic atmosphere we have provided in our mini-town campus, and to join us as partners, visiting scholars, or researchers.
