Thomson Reuters shared the ranking of Europe’s most innovative universities in 2018.

This ranking relied upon data compiled by Clarvite Analytics and several of its research platforms and the list is based on empirical data including patent filings from Derwent Innovation and research paper citations from the Web of Science. The list identifies and ranks the educational institutions doing the most to advance science, invent new technologies, and help drive the global economy.

Switzerland’s two federal institutes of technology in Lausanne (EPFL) and Zurich (ETHZ) made it in the top ten of the ranking, with EPFL reaching spot 4 and ETHZ spot 10, respectively. Three other Swiss institutions were also selected among the top 100: University of Zurich (rank 13), University of Basel (rank 15) and University of Geneva (rank 74).
